Born in England, Elise Lummis’ career has gone from dancer to teacher to Artistic Director to Wardrobe Mistress to Inspiration. Her achievements are too many to name but one has to look at beginning La Companyia, the Barcelona Summer School and the many many dancers she has reared to appreciate her donation and love to and of the dance world
Jean Emile, Classical Teacher, Artistic Director
JE is a New Yorker and graduate of The High School of Performing Arts as well as the School of American Ballet and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. JE joined the Nederlands Dance Theater in 1985 and danced there for a total of 13 years under the direction of Arlette Van Boven and Jiri Kylian. He danced in La Compañia Nacional de Danza under Nacho Duato, and then went on to dance in various companies in NYC and perform in Notre Dame de Paris in Las Vegas. JE has scouted, cast and produced many international shows with companies such as Cirque du Soleil and Dragone, and has been teaching dance since 1996. Jean has also been ballet master for companies including Oakland Ballet, Les Ballet Jazz de Montreal and Bad Boys of Dance. Throughout, JE has never stopped exploring his talent as a choreographer and has had the opportunity to choreograph for Ballet Hispanico, Dagoll Dagom, and El Molino among others.
After completing his training at the “Operaens Ballettskole” en Oslo and the Heinz Bosl Stiftung in Munich, Ingve danced professionally with Pierre Wys in the Braunschweig Company and Staatstheater Hannover as well as the Volksoperenballett in Vienna. He has also guested with various European Companies. Now based in Barcelona he has affiliations with La Companyia, el Institut del Teatre and La Compañía de Mar Gomez among others.
After an early start in his native Chile, Alejandro won a scholarship to the English National Ballet School, and then on to the London Studio Centre. His classical repertoire as a soloist at the Ballet de Santiago ranges from Don Quijote to Romeo and Juliette, while he has enjoyed neo-classical roles from Balanchine to Mauricio Wainrot, across the world.
More recently, Alejandro has danced in creations for the world-renowned showbiz personalities, such as Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, as well as collaborating with producers such as Franco Dragone.
Rudolph graduated from the “Escuela Nacional de Danza” in la Habana and moved directly into the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, where he became First Dancer. After many years of extraordinary work with the students of La Companyia, he has been headhunted away to the Royal Ballet School, where he will be honing the skills of the second year boys! We shall miss him terribly!
Born in France, Vincent was trained at the Royal Ballet School and in 1994 he was a Prix de Lausanne finalist. After this, he danced as soloist and principal in the following companies: Birmingham Royal Ballet, Cape Town City Ballet, Leipziger Ballett, Ballet du Capitole de Toulouse.
He is a master of much of the classical repertoire, and also of the modern choreographers such as Kylian, Cranko, Ashton, Macmillan, Duato, Wainrot and Montero. Various roles have been created for him, including Vasos Comunicantes by Goya Montero, and the international prize-winning Great Mass, by Uwe Scholz. In recent years he has appeared as a guest artist around the world, and worked as a ballet master from Madrid to Mainz.
Trained at The Arts Educational School & with Martha Graham in New York, she has danced with Pina Bausch & was head of the dance department at the University of Berkeley, California. Anna now lives and teaches in Barcelona where she has trained many professional dancers.
Trained in her native Japan, and having graduated from the Royal Ballet of Flanders School into the eponymous company, from there she progressed to soloist at the Hong Kong Ballet. One day, a chance meeting with Angel Corella led to a series of performances together, culminating in her spending several years as Principal Dancer of his company. We are delighted to have her join us as Assistant Director to the Company and teacher specialised in the girls’ development.
Sara Colomino, Junior Teacher, Contemporary and Classical
A child of the Casinet Sara Colomino has gone from the Casinet to earning degrees and accolades from such schools as the Institut del Teatre, Codarts, and the Alvin Ailey ADC among others. Sara is not only setting herself up as special artist but has proven herself to be impressive as a coordinator and a teacher.
